These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through The Seed Story website. Please read them before placing an order.

These terms may be updated from time to time. Any changes will apply only to orders placed after the updated terms are published. Orders already accepted will remain subject to the terms in force when the order was placed.

Orders

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the selected products from us. An automated order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted.

A contract is formed when we send your dispatch confirmation. If we cannot accept your order because of unavailable stock, an unsuccessful payment, an obvious pricing or description error, or another reasonable cause, we will contact you and refund any payment taken.

All orders are subject to availability.

Products and Germination

We take reasonable care to ensure that product names, botanical information, descriptions, prices and photographs are accurate.

Seeds are natural products. Their size, shape, colour and eventual plant characteristics may vary, particularly where seeds are open-pollinated. Product photographs are illustrative and natural variations may occur.

Our growing guides, seed treatments and smoke germination products are intended to support germination, but successful germination cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on factors including seed viability, moisture, temperature, light, compost, ventilation and aftercare.

Failure to germinate does not by itself establish that the seeds were faulty. This does not affect your legal rights where goods are faulty, misdescribed or not fit for purpose.
 

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes. Delivery charges are shown separately before you complete your order.

Payment must be authorised through one of the secure payment methods offered at checkout.

We may correct an obvious pricing or description error before accepting an order. If an error is discovered, we will contact you and give you the choice of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

Delivery and pre-orders

In-stock orders are normally dispatched within three to four working days, excluding weekends and UK bank holidays, unless a different timeframe is stated on the product page.

Pre-order products will be dispatched according to the estimated date shown on the product page or order confirmation. If a pre-order is significantly delayed, we will contact you with an updated estimate and give you the option to continue waiting or cancel for a full refund.

Delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a guaranteed date. Goods will normally be delivered within 30 days unless a later pre-order or delivery date has been agreed.

The goods remain our responsibility until they are physically received by you, someone you have identified to receive them, or a safe place you have specifically authorised.

Cancellations, returns and faulty goods

You may ask to cancel an order before dispatch by emailing grow@theseedstory.co.uk.

For most online purchases, you may also cancel within 14 days after receiving your order without giving a reason. You must then return the goods within a further 14 days.

Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or misdescribed, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them. Products should be returned with reasonable care. We may make a lawful deduction where handling beyond what would reasonably be permitted in a shop has reduced the product’s value.

Eligible refunds will include the price paid and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Refunds will normally be issued within 14 days after we receive the returned goods or evidence that they have been sent back.

If an item is faulty, damaged in transit, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible. Photographs may help us resolve the matter quickly. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the wording, branding, logos, graphics, guides, packaging designs and other original content on this website are owned by or licensed to The Seed Story.

Content may be viewed and used for personal, non-commercial purposes. It may not be reproduced, sold, altered or distributed commercially without prior written permission.

Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for losses that are a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence.

Our products are supplied for private and domestic use. We are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or commercial growing income.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain any mandatory consumer protections available under the law where you live and may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts.
